Competition Cutting by Bill Freeman
Legendary cutting horse trainer, Bill Freeman made this video at the height of his career.
Even though two decades have gone by and Bill has passed away, it still remains one of the best cutting videos that’s ever been produced.
It’s amazing the number of big-time cutting horse trainers who refer to Bill as one of the best there’s ever been and credit him for teaching them a bunch.
Trainer, Phil Rapp (all-time NCHA high money winner) is one of them.
This is Bill’s second cutting video and it is just as good as his first one, “Approaches to Cutting”.
In this video, Bill focuses mostly on training the horse.
However, he does cover some of the most common mistakes people make when riding a cutter (most people don’t realize… the way the horse is jockeyed is just as important as the training).
What I like most about this video, is you get to see the “entire” training process.
Bill starts the training demonstrations with a green two year old and then advances up through each stage of training to the finished horse.
You’ll see Bill school horses at every single level.
You’ll see very green 2-year olds… advanced 2-year olds… 3-year olds (both trained and show schooled)… and 4-year olds that are ready to go win.
Bill also discusses some very important points concerning showing your horse. Very good stuff.
After viewing Bill’s cutting videos, you’ll know why he was the all-time leading Open money earner in the NCHA until just last year. (Bill has won over $5 million).
Bill’s instruction will help novice cutters as well as professional trainers.
The “Competition Cutting” videos are accessible to paid members only.
I purchased the online rights to both of Bills training videos and will eventually post his other video on this site also.
